It was a beautiful day and we actually went to the park to try to take a Christmas card photo. However, I couldn't get a good one that didn't look like Caroline trying to strangle Nicholas. I did get a few shots of the individually, though. So, we will try the Christmas photo another day. :)

Adorable Mittens!

This adorable mitten card was cased and originally seen on Becky Roberts blog. Is it not the most precious card ever?!? Too cute to pass up.

Plus, the designer paper has glitter on it. I know you can't tell from my pictures, but it does, both the striped and the polka-dotted. Adorable!

and...of course a peak at the inside. I usually don't stamp my inside sentiment until I am ready to send the card. My choice of stamp will depend on my mood and theme of the card.

Stamping with my Bud!

Nicholas has decided he is going to get into stamping! All of my children went through a phase where they loved to stamp with me. After a while, they all decided it wasn't for them. Now it is Nicholas' turn. He went through my folder of card samples and picked out the card he wanted to make. Then came the hard part. He decided he needed all of his own supplies as well. Good thing I have plenty. He set up his own little station in his room. The look on my husband's face was priceless when Nick so proudly brought him in to see it.

So, we sat down at the kitchen table to make this card. We needed to first create a mask and Nick picked up on that concept right away. Cut out all of his own and all. He was a champ! Even cut all of his own layers.

We had a ball. Here is the inside of my card. The card below is Nick's. He actually made it for my mom, though I haven't remembered to take it to the post office yet. The "M" on his card stands for Momom (which is what they call my mom) and the "N" for Nick. He was quite proud.

Today's card started out as a CASE of one of Chat Wszelaki's beautiful cards, but ended up with a twist of my own. Without a greeting, it can be used as any type of wintery card when needed.

A Little Vintage Vogue

Good Morning! It is rainy and dreary here. Fall is upon us. I hate that I can't wear flip-flops anymore. Oh well. The picture of today's card is horrible, but it was late at night when I took it and I was in a rush. Sorry about that. One of these days I will invest in a light box.

The base of the card is Soft Suede, followed by a layer of Whisper White.

Good Friday Morning! Hope you have had a good week. I have had the chance to stamp a little this week, so mine has been good.

This card is a CASE of one I saw on Dawn Griffin's blog. The two main floral images were stamped in VersaMark and then embossed with clear embossing powder. After the other images were stamped, I used a dauber to add some color around. This is called Embossing Resist - the color doesn't adhere to the embossed images. And, of course, the inside was stamped as well.....

Here is another quick page from the digital album I am creating. This one took a little maneuvering on part as the template I was using had the white space in the middle as the photobox. But, it wasn't hard at all!

I will be happy to come and show you how to use your My Digital Studio if you need some assistance. This is play time for me! I was quite apprehensive about starting, but now I am loving it!

Lovely as a Tree

Another Christmas card to show today. Trying to figure out what my family Christmas card will be. I am going to try some photos with My Digital Studio too!

Lovely as a Tree has been around for a while and is a favorite of many. I was able to incorporate the tall tree into today's card. The embossing on the base of the card was done with the Northern Flurry embossing folder, simply run through the Big Shot.

The tree was stamped in Black Craft ink and then after it was dry, I used the 2-way glue pen sporadically and then added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to make it sparkle. I know it is hard to see, though.

Here is a look at the inside - not too exciting, but not left naked. Enough room to stamp some words from the heart and sign.

Fun in the Sun!

I put an entire album together in My Digital Studio today! Well, it is 10 pages long. In order to send for printing (professionally) and get the most out of my money, there is a minimum of 22 pages. So, that is what I am going to shoot for. Ok, so I have half of an album done!

Anyhoo, here is a page from it...

My sweet, sweet baby girl has the hardest time when I want to take her picture. She turns evil! But, she will have to deal with it. As with the others, I used a preset template and just added my picture and wording.

Once I have the 22 pages completed, I plan to upload for binding and printing - very reasonably priced I might add. I can't wait to see how the finished product comes out!

Well, Halloween is over and now all of the Christmas preparation will start. This year has just flown by! I can't believe it is almost Christmas! I am definitely not ready! This is a stamp set from the Holiday Mini.

It is quite a large stamp so the whole image did not make it on this standard sized card. I was mainly trying to focus on the "25" and the word "JOY" so, that is what made the cut.

I added some Vanilla Smooch Spray to give the card a little glisten. Love this stuff! Lots of fun and so many possibilities. This was the first time I had used this product. It is hard to see in the picture, but I tried to capture a little of the sparkle.

My "Merry Christmas" greeting is retired, but I was away from home without a current Christmas greeting and had to make due with what I had on hand.

So....Christmas is coming.....Here we go!

Halloween MDS

While at work on Sunday, I had the chance to play a little bit and decided to put the pictures from Halloween onto a page real quick. Again, I started with a premade template and then switched around some of the designer papers to suit my color scheme in the pictures. It was fun! And, best of all, it didn't take me long at all to do. I used an 8x8 template. I am going to attempt to print it to see how it looks. I need to do four whole albums from our last four vacations, so this will give me an idea as to whether or not I want to have it professionally printed and bound (the prices have been reduced dramatically...!) or whether I want to print myself as I go.

Anyhoo...here is what I came up with... After I had already saved it as a JPEG, I decided I should have gone in and put some pumpkins around the base of the tree. I am going to try that now and if it works out well, I will show that to you tomorrow!

The catalog is just filled with inspiration. So why not take advantage of it? Yesterday's card was from a sample in the catty and so is today's. Still loving this little owl punch! Can't get enough of those little owl feet!

Most of the card utilizes punches. The only thing stamped is the greeting on the front (which I believe I took from a Sale-A-Bration set).

Of course, the inside is decorated too...

and a closeup of those precious owls and their feet. Adorable! It doesn't take much to amuse me, as you can see...

Happy Halloween!!

Good morning! Enjoying your weekend? Busy week with school last week so unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to post like I had wanted. I did get to sneak out one afternoon and make two cards, though.

This was copied straight from the catalog, though modified just a little bit. Everything was stamped in Black Craft ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I then used a blender pen to color in the images. I think this bear is just too cute!

And this is the inside. I often forget to show the inside of the card, but I do like to decorate inside as well.

Spooky, Googlie-eyed Ghost

I love playing with my punches and think this card came out adorable. Inspired by a card of Peggy Finney's that I saw, I changed this up a bit and added some layering here and there. the only thing stamped is the "Spooky" greeting. The rest is all done with punches. It was really fun to make. The black layer also was embossed with the spider web embossing folder (through the Big Shot).

I used the pointy end of my paper piercer and wrapped the "stem" end of the leaves to get the curly look and each of the ovals for the pumpkins were sponged on the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.

Sshhh! Don't tell!

Those who know me know I am strictly an SU! girl. Very rarely will I ever buy anything that is not Stampin' Up! However, I saw this image on someone's card out there in blogland about a year ago and I knew I had to have it because it was definitely me! LOL The image shows just how I feel sometimes! So, I bought it. It was just too cute to pass up. Again, I don't really send out Halloween cards, but the collector in me said this was a "must have"!

Adorable, huh? The coloring isn't so good as I was just playing around, but last minute I decided to put the image on a card. The cardstock is all Stampin' Up! as well as the greeting (from Wicked Cool stamp set). I used the current In-Colors for the cardstock - Concord Crush, Pear Pizzaz, and Peach Parfait, along with Whisper White and the coordinating markers. Our In-Colors are so vibrant! Love them.

Hope your week is off to a great start! I only stamped one day during the summer and that was to prepare for a curriculum fair that my team had a table at. We needed a make-n-take for a children's class and so we came up with this card using punches.

Lots of gluing, but fun for the kids. There have been lots of variations for this card so I can't take credit for the inspiration... We did use retiring product.

Whenever I have taken a break from stamping for a little while and need to get back in the groove, I tend to CASE some projects to get my juices flowing again. It definitely helps - and of course that is why we all share our creativity - to help inspire each other!

I LOVE this little bat punch! Too Cute! This card was fun to make - quick and easy too. I did use Stazon for the main image as I colored in some of the open spots and didn't want the ink to run. The white spiderwebs were stamped in Craft ink. I usually like to decorate the inside of the card as well, especially when the base of the card is so dark. So, here is a picture of the inside...

Nothing special, but enough so it isn't naked. Last night I also make some little Halloween treat buckets to show you, but my grandkids came over and the decorated buckets filled with candy went home with them. Couldn't resist. So, I will have to make some more to show.

Halloween is just 2 weeks away! I don't normally send out Halloween cards, but I have seen a couple of ideas and just HAD to make them. This is one of them.

The owl, the bat and the leaves are all made with punches. Absolutely LOVE the feet on this little owl! There are so many other things to make out of this shape punch as well. Turn it upside down for a ghost, a tulip, girls' hair.... Too Cute!

Morning! Yesterday was filled with midterms, Spanish class for the kids and some errands so I didn't get a chance to post the cards I made. Are you ready? They came out so beautiful. The picture really doesn't do them justice (or m

aybe it is the photographer..... :( ) I am really pleased with them, though.

So quick to put together. I layered each card on some coordinating cardstock, pulling colors from the flowers in the cards. I chose not to add any embellishment, but easily could have. I just felt they looked elegantly simple just the way they are.

A 10 minute SB Page!

Never in my "stamping career" have I accomplished a scrabook page in 10 minutes! Until today!! I have been a little intimidated to take on the whole digital scrapbooking, but today I gave it a try and whipped out a page in just 10 minutes! Couldn't believe it!

I started with one blank page and then chose a template (it isn't necessary to choose a template, but I thought it might be a little less stressful for my first time...). Double clicked on my pictures and suddenly they were on the page! As of right now, I don't have any summertime or swimming digital stamps, so I left it as is.....hmmmm, I think I will be shopping in the next few days....

Looky, Looky!

I have been playing with my MDS (My Digital Studio) and while I have the gist of it as far as the basics go, there is SOOOOO much you can do with this software and therefore soooooo much to learn! I have had this program since it came out and here and there have been adding to it with new downloads. So much fun! I know we are getting into fall and all, but I am a spring / summer girl at heart and, as you know (wink), love floral images. So, I HAD to have the Summer Splendor DSP for MDS (#121067, $4.95 US). Can you say GORGEOUS!?! Definite "Stephanie Paper" as my friends would say. Now, with MDS, you can make cards, pages, etc. to be sent off to print (very reasonably priced, I might add....), or, you can print your own.

I am a miser with my colored ink (no comment, Caroline, thank you very much!), but I figured one page won't hurt me. I am currently at work so it isn't printed just yet, but this is what I have created (after watching a tutorial on another demonstrator's blog). Four card fronts that I can simply print and cut on one 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock and adhere to my card base. Quick, simple, EASY!! Took me about 10 minutes!

Tomorrow I will show you the completed project. I am also going to take one of the cards and make a "completed" card to print so I will show that as well.

After a long (and busy) break from blogland, I am back! I know I certainly missed all of you and your kind comments! I have continued to homeschool my two children, got a new job and have gone back to school myself. So, we have been busy, busy, busy. Still away, but found some time today to do a little digital stamping! The best part is....no mess to clean up! Can't beat that! I will, however, have to go back and add some pages for the inside and send what I have created off to be printed if I don't print them at home myself....

The Divas took the week off this week from our challenges. However, Late Night Stampers have a sketch challenge to work with.

How convenient is My Digital Studio?!? I am really enjoying it. Still some aspects that I need to work on and get the hang of, but overall I am liking it!

The floral image on the Whisper White layer are actually "stamped" in Not Quite Navy ink color and then I adjusted the opacity to make them real light. Too cool! Need some help with your My Digital Studio? Just let me know and I will be happy to help!

Diva Coffee Break Designs Sketch Challenge #171

Lots to do while I am away....so did I bring everything that needed to be taken care of? Of course not! Of all of the things I could have left at home, it was my stamps! As I was packing and the car filled up quickly, I figured I could just use my mom's stamp inventory as her supply doesn't seem to receive the love that mine are used to. However, I didn't take into account the Diva challenges that would need my attention with all current supplies. Hmmmmmm. What will I do? MDS to the rescue! Now I really haven't spent much time playing with My Digital Studio, though I did go through the certification process. Once I got the hang of it, it really wasn't that bad. I do have to work on my margins and such as you can see in the card below, they are slightly off.

Working with MDS was actually a lot of fun. I am going to try my hand at a scrapbook page layout too. This software offers endless possibilities. I saw this group of cards done by another stamper (not SU), H. Pulvirenti, using another company's stamps and thought they were just adorable. So, I had to recreate using SU product. No layers! Can you believe it? The bases are 8-1/2 x 4-1/4, stamped with white Craft ink.

Good Morning! It has just been a crazy week and so I am late again with my Diva post. I apologize. I actually had my card done last night, but it just wasn't meeting my standards so I didn't post it. is what I get for waiting until the last minute. Went to bed and worked on it again this morning. I guess I just have a problem with "simple", which is how a lot of my cards have been lately ~ which doesn't make for a happy stamper! Anyway, this was my first attemAnd so, I set out to work again this morning and am much happier with the second card. It is more my style ~ lots of layers and more "pop". Our challenge this week was to use Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip. I actually got my card done and realized there was no Chocolate Chip so I had to redo again. I like it better with the Chocolate Chip anyway.

Good Morning! Happy Wednesday! I am sooooo slow moving this morning, but have made it here nonetheless! I think I am so stressed from school that it has drained all of my mojo. Today's card is a case and I am sorry to say that I didn't write down the name of the stamper who made it originally. My card today is square, 5-1/2", in order to accommodate the scallop oval frame. I actually had to cut yesterday's oval frame to fit! (Yikes!) The bottom of the card was scored using my paper cutter and stylus.

Good Morning! I have been studying so hard this weekend and every now and then I have taken a break to clear my head and relax with some sneaky stamping. The Divas have a color challenge this week...

I woke up this morning thinking...okay, I have the day off of work today. This is great! I can get caught up on my challenges and devote a decent amount of time to my A&P class. The sun is out. It is going to be a great day!

NOT!! The next thing I knew, my daughter came in to wake me up and announced that it was 9:41. I opened my eyes, trying to figure out what today was. It then dawned on me that it was already Wednesday and I hadn't done my Diva challenge yet! Run to the office!!

Well, I always seem to be a day late and a dollar short! Story of my life! At least I got my card done. I am now going to try to salvage the rest of the day and see if it will go as planned. Wish me luck!

Show Me the Love!

The challenge this week at Late Night Stampers Group is to create Valentine theme related projects. This is my first submission for that challenge. I used the sketch layout from last week's DIVA challenge. The love image is embossed in black craft ink with clear embossing powder so that when I colored it with the blender pen and ink, it didn't bleed.

Good morning and Happy Friday to ya! We have a simpler card today with some coloring. My images were stamped in Jet Black StazOn and then colored in with the blender pen and ink pads. I stamped a few extra as well and cut them out after coloring, adhering with a dimensional here and there. I use the StazOn when coloring so that it does not run.

Creative Ribbon

Our challenge this week over at Late Night Stampers Group is to show some creative uses for ribbon. I use a lot of ribbon on my cards. They just seem to look naked without some ribbon dressing it up. As for "creativity", though, that is another story and definitely out of my comfort zone. But, I gave it a whirl. My original intention was to create a scrapbook page with a few more flowers on it, but time just got away from me - as usual - and so I ended up with just a card.

The petals of the flower are made of six separate pieces of ribbon, simply folded and adhered together with sticky tape. The stem and leaves are more obvious, made of three pieces of the Old Olive ribbon.

Well this is our first Diva Coffee Break Designs challenge of 2010! It feels good to be creating again after such a long break. The first card I made using this sketch design actually fell into the Late Night Stampers Group challenge theme for next week. So, I will save that one for Monday and show you what I came up with next! Now I sort of feel ahead of the game! :)

A new year, a new beginning! Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday! I am going to start fresh with some new goals for my stamping business. One of those goals is to make the time to stamp more and try to post as much as possible. I did make the time to stamp yesterday, but with my husband home I didn't take the time to post it. But, that is okay, it is being posted today! :) My picture isn't that great since it was taken at night, though.

Over at Late Night Stampers Group, our challenge this week is to create using brads. All of the brads on this card are from the Pretties Kit. Where did this ribbon come from, you might ask...? It actually is the polka dotted Rich Razzleberry grosgrain, just flipped over to the solid side as the polka dots didn't seem to fit with the card. I haven't actually stamped in so long, it took me a long time to make this card. It is always hard for me to get back in the groove.

I know I have been completely out of it lately. Thank you for your patience! It is Wednesday again. I just don't know where the week goes. Anyhoo..... we have a color challenge to work with this week. Such pretty colors. Over at LNS Stampers, our challenge was to make a Christmas card using nontraditional Christmas colors. So, being behind - as I usually am - I decided to try to combine the two. It really came together once I got going, but was difficult to start since I haven't stamped in so long! (gasp!)

I used the Patterned Pines Level I Hostess set. These poor trees have never seen ink before this morning. I simply colored the trees with markers and stamped directly on the White cardstock. But, then decided to stamp again and cut out the tree images without the trunk to make them stand out a little bit more. The ribbon is layered - Rich Razzleberry grosgrain on the bottom and 1/4" Rose Red grosgrain on top.

DIVA Challenge

It's time for another DIVA challenge! We have a color challenge this week. I absolutely love these colors together. Not sure I picked the right card, though. But, I will definitely be playing around with these colors some more! They are so stunning together in real life!

Inspiration from my card came from a poster on Splitcoast, minapier. She had a beautiful square card in gorgeous colors using this set. It is hard to tell from my picture, but the base of the card is Sage Shadow, as well as one of the scallops under the circle.

So simple and elegant, this card could easily fit a number of occasions just by changing the sentiment. The original card I saw by Silke Ledlow I believe was a Christmas card, but it has been a while and I can't quite remember. This piece of DSP has some flocking on it and is very striking in person!

I saw a version of this card out there in the blog world, but can't quite seem to remember where. Her card (another demo) was so pretty, though, and mine just doesn't do it justice. But, it is another holiday card idea for you just the same.

Accessories: Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, 5-petal punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Eyelet border punch

The "poinsettia" flowers are two punched images from the 5-petal punch, one on top of the other. I put a dab - more like a blob - of Crystal Effects in the middle and then some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I guess I need to work on that technique! LOL! I tried to distress the leaf edges a bit and sponged them with some Real Red ink to make them a little darker in certain places.

Another Christmas card! This beautiful card was inspired by Lisa Freeman and, once again, uses the Big Shot. The corner of the Whisper White main layer is embossed with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder and the punched out ornament is embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder. For the centers of the flowers, I added some color with a Real Red marker.

Happy Monday to you all! I have gotten so caught up in my personal circus lately that I just have not had a chance to blog. But, I do have a bunch to show you over the next couple of days to make up for it. I have had some time here and there to create a little bit. Our challenge this week over at Late Night Stampers Group is to make some handmade gifts and while I have a great handmade gift in mind, it is not quite complete yet. So, we are going to start with some gift tags. These are so pretty in person and were inspired by Becky Roberts. I thought they were going to fit into one of those little tins, but they are just a hair too big. I am going to have to create a little box for them, but will work on that a little later. They are, of course, made with the Big Shot and Top Note die, along with an embossing folder and the ornament punch. Finish off with some silver cord and gorgeous organza ribbon - I would love to receive these pretty tags as a gift!

Happy Halloween to you all! Another special Halloween treat! Who wouldn't want to receive this goodie? Little Hershey Nuggets wrapped in some designer series paper - all decorated for the holiday! Add a tag and some gorgeous Stampin' Up! ribbon and you are set to go! The tin holds 12 Nuggets. The strips of DSP are 3" x 1" and are adhered with just a little piece of Sticky Strip. Easy Peasy! My kids think I have lost a marble or two, watching me get so excited over these bears - or any Stampin' Up! products in general. They just don't understand. Oh well. My two little bears got to embellish some little candy bags - a special treat for the little ones when they least expect it. The bag itself is made from a piece of 6-1/2" x 12" piece of cardstock, scored at 1-1/4" length-wise and 5-1/4" width-wise. After inserting the end of the ribbon through the holes on the side, I placed either Chocolate Chip corduroy brads to hold it in place or the brown 5/8" brads. The corduroy ones are a little bit more top heavy and so a glue dot would be needed to hold them in place. These little boxes could be decorated with designer paper or any type of
Sizzix die or even stamps / wheels. They are quite versatile as far as changing theme / occasion. Supplies~

Cardstock: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Kraft

Build A Bear

Our Late Night Stampers Group challenge this week is to pull our colors from our favorite candy wrappers. There is candy, candy, candy EVERYWHERE this time of year! My all-time favorite, I think - it is pretty hard to chose when you are a candy lover!, is a Resses Peanutbutter Cup. So, I went with Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie as my two main colors for today's card. I used the Sweet Treats cups and put a little something special in there. These treat cups fit perfectly with images from the Sweet Centers stamp set. Fun to make and fun to receive!
